This striking spiral design is taken from "Zuan Hyakushu" (図案百種), published in Kyoto in 1901 during the Meiji era — a golden age of Japanese textile and pattern design.
The bold swirling pattern draws from Japan's ancient tradition of depicting water in motion. At first glance it resembles fireworks, but it is a graphic interpretation of flowing water and eternal energy.
Uzumaki (渦巻 · Spiral): In Japanese tradition, the spiral symbolizes endless energy, eternity, and rebirth.
Tokiwa Green (常磐色): This deep, rich green is named after evergreen trees such as pine and cedar — representing everlasting, unchanging beauty.
A 120-year-old Meiji masterpiece, reimagined for modern life.
May Maru's lucky kinked tail hook happiness into your life. 🐱
